This is a great sturdy chess table. The cherry color looks great too. Its made of real wood so it's pretty heavy. The squares are average size, and there is plenty of extra room on the table for a clock and captured pieces.
However, the styrofoam packaging (which is non-recyclable) was atrocious and made a huge mess everywhere. I mean who uses styrofoam anymore??? In fact, it took longer to clean the styrofoam pieces than to assemble the table! Acme Co. - please get some bubble wrap. Please.

Nicely done table.
I was very surprised on the nice finish for this piece. It put together very simply and seems very sturdy. I was worried that it would be top heavy, but I have not found that to be the case. The board top is nicely done, and the cabinets are quite sturdy as well. Overall I find this to be worth the money. The game board was nicely finished, I see it being only lightly so. If by any chance someone were to spill a drink on it, it would ruin the board. I plan to put a more durable, waterproof clear finish on it to make sure the board lasts longer.

This is a beautiful piece of furniture. 2 drawers are nice and deep. Chess board is very nice, but you could buy a different board with same dimensions, file two half circles at center of two opposing sides so you can lift it out like the board it comes with.
